O Conselho Monetário Nacional (CMN) prorrogou para o dia 2 de abril de 2012 a proibição para contratação de correspondentes bancários pelas instituições financeiras para atuação dentro das agências ou dos postos de atendimento. A data prevista originalmente para início de vigência da medida era o dia 2 de janeiro.
Segundo o chefe do Departamento de Normas do Banco Central, Sérgio Odilon dos Anjos, a prorrogação foi feita a pedido dos bancos para se adequarem a regulamentação. “Demos condições para que bancos e correspondentes possam se adequar em prazo mais razoável, um mês era muito curto para se adequar ao modelo”.
Odilon ressaltou que a atuação dos correspondentes bancários dentro das agências ou dos postos de atendimentos “descaracteriza” o exercício da atividade. “A medida combate distorção do modelo de pulverizar o sistema bancário, em vez de institucionalizá-lo dentro da própria agência. Está sendo proibido que ele fique dentro da agência, não está sendo proibido que trabalhe para o banco”, disse. Correspondentes bancários são serviços que empresas fazem para os bancos, como atendimento 24 horas por dia, autorizados pelo Banco Central.
Para o presidente do Sindicato, Jeferson Boava, os bancos são ágeis para cobrar dos bancários o cumprimento de metas. “Mas, quando se trata de cumprir a legislação, alegam dificuldades. A prorrogação do prazo deixa claro, mais uma vez, que o CMN, assim como o Banco Central, são submissos à Febraban, aos bancos”.
